The retractable staircase shall be incorporated into a sturdy one-eighth inch thick steel frame to which well-graded springs shall be connected to counterbalance the weight of the staircase and cover. The fold-out aluminum staircase, with non-slip treads, shall be attached to the frame with a heavy-duty stainless steel hinge to support a weight of 700 lbs. or 320kg.
Once in the open position, it shall be held in place by its weight, Also it shall have adjustable feet to fit the existing floor. The cover shall be one-eighth inch thick aluminum, reinforced, to which a ring shall be placed to allow the arm provided to hook onto it to open it.
